The Care & Feeding of Bright Eyed Creatures

Feeding: One of the best thing about Bright Eyed Creatures is that they mostly take care of themselves. Leave them in a bright spot to bask all day, and they’ll be happy little dudes until the end of time. They like to hunt when they’re alone, and they will eat any of imaginary creatures that tend to hang around your house. Gremlins, doldrums and closet monsters are some of their favorite prey.

Care: Fortunately there are only two concerns you need to have about bringing one of my dragons or imps into your home. Water and real live cats.

  • Water: Bright Eyed Creatures can get sick if exposed to too much water and humidity. A splash here and there won’t cause much harm, but continuous exposure to moisture will result in a paleness that theyll never recover from. If you choose to give your new friend a perch outside make sure they are protected from the elements. (Perches near saunas and steamy showers can also cause the same illness.)
  • Cats: Cats are dangerous because Bright Eyed Creatures are so afraid of cats they freeze and allow themselves to be knocked around. The swat from the cat rarely damages them, but a fall from a great height can result in an injury. The good news is that the damage cause by water, injuries can be fixed with a plastic safe adhesive. (I like Super Glue and Krazy Glue®.)

If surgery is required and you don’t feel comfortable doing it yourself, you can send your creature back to me and I will repair or replace him. This service is free for the first 30 days. I only ask that you pay the cost of shipping TO me. I will cover the rest. After 30 days the cost will depend on the size of the repair.

Where do Bright Eyed Creatures come from?

I’d like to start out by saying I am not a breeder. There are enough wild dragons and imps out there and I prefer to rescue and re-home creatures.

It’s a dangerous world and every now and then I come across a clutch that needs some help. Sometimes I even run across an older dragon looking for adventure.  As bright eyed creatures are in no danger of becoming endangered I feel comfortable in taming the ones I find. The reason you’ve never seen any in the wild, flying around your home or basking in your garden, is that they don’t come from this dimension.

Several years ago I discovered that there were several portals to other dimensions in the room I call my library. On each of the bookshelves there are openings to other places that I can use to jump back and forth. It was during one of these journeys that I stumbled across dragons and imps. However it wasn’t until I learned how to open create my own portals that I discovered the different types of bright eyed creature. Now it has become my personal goal to populate our world with these fantastic creatures.

Neither Sun Creatures nor Moon Creatures pose a threat to our planet’s existing eco-system. The live off of sun rays and imaginary pests, like close monsters and gremlins.

Wing Grooming

Wing grooming is a sign that a young Sun or Moon Dragon is reaching an age where they see the importance of personal hygiene. I’ll be honest, prior to developing wings most of my dragons would be perfectly happy letting their horns grow down to the floor and collecting hordes of dust balls to use as “treasure”.

Once they sprout wings however they realize that a good trim every now and then prevents unwanted shadows and helps with aerodynamics. Particularly in the wing department. The thinner areas of the wings can get a little ratty, much like finger nails, and need a little clean up on occasion.

The good news is, once you’ve adopted a winged dragon, they’ll take care of all their own grooming. You won’t have to worry about it. If you choose to adopt a wingless dragon, well they tend to chew on their horns anyway so you’ll only have to worry about dust. (I also only put wingless dragons up for adoption when I’m sure they don’t have an interest in flying. That way new owners don’t have to worry about expensive training classes or professional groomers.)

[ Guess who is cleaning up a new batch of wings today? ;) ]
